Bulgarian National Bank will present on 26th of November the new 2-leva coin, which will replace the banknote.
The new coin will go into circulation on 7th of December. The banknotes will remain legal tender until they are fully withdrawn by BNB.
The “tails” side of the coin will depict Paisii Hilendarski (a key figure in Bulgarian Revival in 18th – 19th century, most famous for writing the Slavonic-Bulgarian History). The inner metal circle is made of alloy with goldish colour and the outer ring is made of alloy with silvery colour.
The author of the artistic design is Vanya Dimitrova.
