The Energy and Water Regulatory Commission proposes an increase in the price of heating by up to 8%. The price rise affects Sofia, Plovdiv, Vratsa and the big cities of the country and results from the increae of natural gas prices.
The energy regulator proposes an increase in the price of heating in Plovdiv, Sofia, Vratsa, Razgrad, Bоurgas, Pleven, Veliko Turnovo and Varna by between 3 and 9%.
The reason is the 14% increase demanded by Bulgargaz for the gas we buy from Gazprom.
This will be the second price rise for one year after the 7 % increase in July.
Change in the price of heating in October is not expected in Rousse, Pernik, Sliven and Gabrovo, because the district heating in these cities is coal-fired and does not use natural gas, the regulator explained.
EWRC will decide on the heating price next week. No increase in the prices of electricity is currently expected.
