Roger Federer reached the fourth round of the Australian Open. He won 6-4, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 in 2 hours, 40 minutes.
“It was a difficult position for me after losing the second set and Grigor was playing well. I thought I was struggling a little bit,” Federer said.
“It's a little odd from time to time because I feel like he picks up the ball on the backhand and forehand side similar to me,' said Federer of his opponent.
Dimitrov was bidding to reach the fourth round for the third consecutive year. His best Australian Open result is a quarter-finals showing in 2014 (l. to Rafael Nadal).
