On 27th of November, Bulgaria’s Parliament ratified the agreement with Poland for upgrade of the MIG-29 jet fighters.
There was a debate in the plenary hall on the price, deadlines, quality and geostrategic choice Bulgaria makes by signing this agreement.
The Bulgarian socialist Party, ABC party and the nationalist “Ataka” party voted against.
The centre-right GERB, the Reformist Bloc, Patriotic Front and the liberal “Movement for Rights and Freedoms” voted in favour of the agreement.
The second-reading vote was 130 in favour and 40 against.
Bulgaria’s Parliament had been scheduled to vote on the ratification of the agreement on 24th of November, but did not reach the agenda item and it was postponed for 27th of November.
