The Speaker of the 44th National Assembly Tsveta Karayancheva invited the European institutions to send observers to monitor all stages of the parliamentary elections in Bulgaria in 2021, the National Assembly announced on October 22.
Karayancheva sent the official letters of invitation to the presidents of the European Commission, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the European Commission for Democracy through Law and the Group of States Fighting Corruption - GRECO.
The Speaker of the National Assembly motivated her decision to send the invitations to the European institutions with the frequent speculations about the fairness of the election process in Bulgaria.
According to Tsveta Karayancheva, sending observation missions to Bulgaria would give additional peace of mind and guarantees to Bulgarian citizens for the honesty, counting and reporting of the election results.
