Bulgaria’s President attends the opening of 74th session of UN General Assembly

In New York, Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev and Deputy Prime Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva on September 24 attended the official opening of the summit of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly.

This year, the topics focus on intensifying multilateral efforts to reduce poverty and prevent conflicts. Measures against the reduction in the quality of education, combatting climate change and social exclusion are on the agenda.

The Heads of State or Government of all 193 Member States attended today's official opening made by Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. The opening took place with record media interest and, at the same time, in a city completely blocked by police and special forces and, at the same time, by many protests aimed at fighting climate change.
