Bulgaria’s President Rosen Plevneliev sent a condolence letter to Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in connection with the terrorist attack at Ataturk International Airport, in which dozens of citizens were killed and many injured, the Head of State's Press Secretariat said on 29th of June.

"I was deeply shocked and grieved by the news of the terrorist acts that resulted in the killing of innocent citizens and left many injured. The Republic of Bulgaria strongly condemns these manifestations of violence and all forms of terrorism targeting peaceful civilians, that cannot be justified in any way," Plevneliev's letter says.

On behalf of the Bulgarian people and on his own behalf, the President offers most sincere condolences to the families and close people of the victims. "At this difficult moment, I would like to express our empathy and sympathy and to wish speedy recovery to those who were injured," the letter reads.
