He is in New York for the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The Bulgarian President insisted on the removal of US visas for Bulgarian citizens and the linking of the strategic partnership with the US in the area of defence, with more American investments in Bulgaria.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva, who is a member of the Bulgarian delegation in New York, will today meet with her Costa Rican and Kyrgyzstan counterparts. Yesterday, the main focus of all her talks was the situation in Syria and Libya.
