President Rumen Radev today sent a congratulatory letter and held a telephone conversation with his counterpart President Stevo Pendarovski on the occasion of the Republic Day of the Republic of North Macedonia - August 2.
The commemoration of the Ilinden-Preobrazhenie Uprising occupies an important place in our shared history and is just one of the examples of the rich spiritual, cultural and historical heritage that closely links our two countries and their citizens, Rumen Radev said.
He pointed out that the two countries’ shared history should become a real factor for rapprochement between Bulgaria and the Republic of North Macedonia and the statesmen from both countries should contribute to this.
"The stated ambitions for a common future in a united Europe should lead to the real building and deepening of good neighbourly relations in the interest of the citizens, which they expect," Rumen Radev further said.
