Bulgaria’s Prime Minister congratulated Ana Brnabic on her re-election as Prime Minister of Serbia

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov congratulated Ana Brnabic on her re-election as Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia.

"I fully support you and welcome your statement that the new Serbian government will be pro-European," said Prime Minister Boyko Borissov in his congratulatory address to Ana Brnabic.

Borissov stressed that Bulgaria has been actively supporting and defending the right of the countries of the Western Balkans, including Serbia, which is among the leading candidate countries for EU membership, to be part of the European family for a long time.

"I want to assure you that in the face of Bulgaria you will continue to have a strong supporter of your country's European integration," Prime Minister Boyko Borissov wrote to the Serbian prime minister.

In his letter, Borissov also congratulated Ana Brnabic on the establishment of a new portfolio in the Serbian government, dedicated to human rights, the rights of national minorities and public dialogue in Serbia.

"For Bulgaria, the realization of the rights of the representatives of the Bulgarian national minority in Serbia is a very important issue, we rely on the Serbian side to protect them and provide conditions for the exercise of all their rights in accordance with Serbian law," said Prime Minister Boyko Borissov.

In his congratulatory address, he expressed confidence that the close relations of cooperation between Bulgaria and Serbia will continue to develop in the direction of further intensification and deepening of bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
