On 27th of January, Bulgaria’s Supreme Judicial Council came out with a declaration in response to the resignation call of GERB and the Reformist Bloc’s and said it was not going to dissolve itself.
The resignation call came a day before the official release of the European Commission’s report on Bulgaria's performance under Co-operation and Verification Mechanism (CVM).
The dissolving of the SJC can only happen if the members themselves decide to resign. There is no procedure or mechanism that allows the National Assembly to make decisions on dissolving the SJC, no matter that some of the SJC members are elected by the MPs.
