The summer season already started and the beaches and hotels at the Bulgarian Black sea resorts are full of tourists. Last weekend was the first one during which many Bulgarians chose for a short holiday at Sunny Beach, Nessebar and Ravda.

Bulgaria sees 30% increase in the early bookings for the regions of Sunny Beach. The actual increase in the number of tourists is expected to be at least 10%.

According to tourist industry representatives, the issues with the bathing sea water quality has been solved to a large degree. This year, several Bulgarian beaches at the Black Sea were awarded the European Blue Flag certificate which is attributed for meeting stringent criteria such a high standard of water quality, cleanliness of the beach itself, presence of safety equipment and other facilities.

angelkova1-255043-810x0Bulgaria’s Minister of Tourism, Nikolina Angelkova, took part in inspections of the coast line in Sunny Beach resort on 27th of June. The inspections by the ministry of tourism started on 22nd of June and so far covered 28 beaches.

No irregularities were identified from today’s checks at Sunny Beach – South and Sunny Beach- central beach. The inspections showed that all approved plans were adhered to and requirements for free zones for tourists were met. There are 6 lifeguard towers with 12 life guards at Sunny Beach- South. Additional security measures were taken at the central beach at Sunny Beach, including 22 lifeguard towers (instead of the required 6) with 38 life guards. Sunny Beach – North is undergoing an inspection as well.

In order to ensure the rights of tourists, by order of Bulgaria’s Tourism Minister Angelkova, all beaches will be provided with information boards, in Bulgarian, English, German and Russian languages. The boards will inform the public about the obligations of the concessioners and the rights of the tourists.
