Caretaker PM: I guarantee that we have taken all necessary measures for fair and transparent elections

I take this opportunity, in view of the forthcoming elections, to call on Bulgarian citizens to be active and to exercise their right to vote. Elections are at the heart of the democratic process. We should be active, responsible and conscious when we participate in it, Bulgaria’s caretaker Prime Minister Stefan Yanev said at the beginning of the regular weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers on November 10.

With regard to speculation that there is something wrong with the preparations - I emphasize that these are just speculations that aim to discredit the election process. The main goal is to demotivate Bulgarian citizens to go out and vote, he stressed.

From the point of view of the caretaker cabinet, I guarantee you that we have taken all necessary measures for a fair and transparent vote. I want to remind that political parties should generate management policies and not discredit the election process, Yanev said.

Bulgarian politics needs to change, which is why I call on Bulgarian citizens to go out and vote. I hope this will lead to a stable government that will carry out the necessary reforms and they will start with a reform of the judicial system, added Yanev.

Bulgaria will be going to the polls on November 14 after the biggest political powers elected in the April 4 regular parliamentary elections and the ones elected in July 11 early parliamentary elections failed to form a government. The November 14 early parliamentary elections will be held on the same day as the regular presidential elections.
