The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Bulgaria has not provided the personal data misused in the lists with supporting signatures of the political parties and coalitions for registration for the European elections, the CEC informed in an announcement to the media.
The announcement also says that CEC does not collect and does not disclose such type of data. The data is subject to examination by other competent authorities: the Commission for Personal Data Protection and the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Bulgaria.
Later on Wednesday,16th April, CEC has arranged a press conference with representatives of the Commission for Personal Data Protection and the Prosecutor’s Office following a working meeting related to the submitted complaints about illicit use of personal data in the lists with supporting signatures by parties and coalitions to register for the forthcoming elections to the European Parliament on 25th May.
