The annual charity campaign “Bulgarian Christmas” was opened by Bulgaria’s President Rosen Plevneliev on 1st of December in Sofia’s emergency hospital “Pirogov”. This is the 13th edition of the campaign and this year’s theme will be to raise funds to help children in intensive care units.

At the opening ceremony, the President said that even a small gesture of donation can change human lives and serve as a good example. Bulgarian Christmas managed to unite millions of Bulgarian people, he added. Our attitude toward human suffering makes us stronger, better and more complete personalities. Good deeds give meaning to human life, inspire public trust, optimism and hope and give us the right values, the President said.
