The newly confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 1,336 from 11,505 PCR tests, data published on the National Information Portal on coronavirus shows on October 21.
The largest number of new cases was reported in Sofia city (523); Plovdiv (135); Bourgas (78); Blagoevgrad (69); Varna (68); Stara Zagora (67); Targivishte (56) and Rousse (50).
The total lab-confirmed cases in the country since the start of the epidemic is 31,863.
The active cases are 13,430.
Of the total, 1,633 patients are in hospitals, 93 of them being in intensive care.
The recoveries over the 24-hour period are 261. The total recoveries are 17,414.
A total of 1,682 medical professional have tested positive for the virus since the start of the epidemic, including 60 newly infected ver the past 24 hours: 24 doctors; 17 nurses; 9 healthcare assistants; 2 paramedics and 8 other medical staff.
Eleven Covid-19 related deaths were reported in the past 24 hours. Total deaths rose to 1,019.
