The newly confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 1,472 from 8,738 PCR tests, data published on the National Information Portal on coronavirus shows on October 22.
The latest cases were registered in the following districts:
Blagoevgrad - 58; Bourgas - 59; Varna - 77; Veliko Turnovo - 27; Vratsa - 40; Gabrovo - 48; Dobrich - 6; Kardhzali - 42; Kyustendil - 12; Lovech - 20; Montana - 23; Pazardzhik - 44; Pernik - 22; Pleven - 33; Plovdiv - 147; Razgrad - 7; Rousse - 54; Silistra - 8; Sliven - 60; Smolyan - 20; Sofia district - 29; Sofia city - 483; Stara Zagora - 37; Targovishte - 43; Haskovo - 23; Shoumen - 47; Yambol - 3.
The total lab-confirmed cases in the country since the start of the epidemic is 33,335.
The active cases are 14,689.
Of the total, 1,732 patients are in hospitals, 107 of them being in intensive care.
The recoveries over the 24-hour period are 184. The total recoveries are 17,598.
A total of 1,727 medical professional have tested positive for the virus since the start of the epidemic, including 45 newly infected over the past 24 hours: 14 doctors; 13 nurses; 4 healthcare assistants; 4 paramedics and 10 other medical staff.
29 Covid-19 related deaths were reported in the past 24 hours. Total deaths rose to 1,048.
