Coronavirus in Bulgaria: 1,725 new cases, positivity rate is at 5%

The newly confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 1,725 from 33,261 tests, the daily report on the National Information Portal shows on December 16.

Test positivity rate is at 5%.

The total lab-confirmed positive cases in the country since the start of the epidemic are 720,376

The active cases are 95,166.

Of the total, 4,869 patients are in hospitals, 560 of them being in intensive care.

During the past 24 hours:

· 2,289 recoveries, bringing the total to date to 593,363

· 17,859 administered doses of Covid-19 vaccines, bringing the total to date to 3,541,372.

· 83 Covid-19 related deaths, thus the death toll to date is 29,847.

Of the daily cases, 81.45% had not been vaccinated.

Of those who died, 96.39% had not been vaccinated.

There were 438 new hospitalisations, of which 83.33% had not been vaccinated.

*Those considered to be vaccinated had completed the course of vaccination.
