The newly confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 1,918 from 17,408 tests, the daily report on the National Information Portal shows on January 4, 2022.
Test positivity rate is at 11%.
Of the total, 4,306 patients are in hospitals, 455 of them being in intensive care.
During the past 24 hours:
· 638 recoveries, bringing the total to date to 613,666
· 6,830 administered doses of Covid-19 vaccines, bringing the total to date to 3,711,638. So far, 283,435 have received a booster dose.
· 53 Covid-19 related deaths, thus the death toll to date is 31,080.
Of the daily cases, 73.62% had not been vaccinated.
Of those who died, 96.23% had not been vaccinated.
There were 315 new hospitalisations, of which 80.00% had not been vaccinated.
Sofia-city and the district of Pernik have been re-designated as Covid-19 dark red zones, meaning the number of cases there are more than 500 per 100,000 people.
