The newly confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 437 from 4,541 PCR tests, data published on the National Information Portal on coronavirus shows on October 8. This is 9.6% of the tested for the period.
The largest number of new cases was reported in Sofia city (124), Plovdiv (65), Varna (35), Blagoevgrad (30), Bourgas (28) and Stara Zagora (28).
The total lab-confirmed cases in the country since the start of the epidemic is 22,743.
The active cases 6,422.
Of the total, 1,033 patients are in hospitals, 53 of them being in intensive care.
The recoveries over the 24-hour period are 138.
The medical professionals who tested positive for the virus are 1,263, including 26 new cases over the past 24 hours: 7 doctors; 10 nurses, 8 healthcare assistant and 1 paramedic.
Eleven Covid-19 related deaths were reported. Total deaths are 873.
