The newly confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 516 from 5,209 PCR tests, data published on the National Information Portal on coronavirus shows on October 9. This is 9.9% of the tested for the period.
The largest number of new cases was reported in Sofia city (138), Plovdiv (51), Blagoevgrad (49).
The total lab-confirmed cases in the country since the start of the epidemic is 23,259.
The active cases 6,816.
Of the total, 1,063 patients are in hospitals, 56 of them being in intensive care.
The recoveries over the 24-hour period are 115. The total recoveries are 15,563
The medical professionals who tested positive for the virus are 1,292, including 29 new cases over the past 24 hours: 9 doctors; 8 nurses, 5 healthcare assistants, 1 paramedic and 6 other staff.
Seven Covid-19 related deaths were reported. Total deaths are 880.
