The newly confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria over the past 24 hours are 819 from 5,898 PCR tests, data published on the National Information Portal on coronavirus shows on October 15. This means nearly 14% of all tested for the period were infected.
The largest number of new cases was reported in Sofia city (265), Plovdiv (95), Blagoevgrad (53), Targovishte (43), Bourgas (33), Varna (34), Vratsa (28) and Stara Zagora (27).
The total lab-confirmed cases in the country since the start of the epidemic is 26,593.
The active cases 9,175.
Of the total, 1,380 patients are in hospitals, 67 of them being in intensive care.
The recoveries over the 24-hour period are 350. The total recoveries are 16,489
The medical professionals who tested positive for the virus are 1,440, including 25 new cases over the past 24 hours: 4 doctors; 10 nurses, 5 healthcare assistants and 5 other medical staff.
Six Covid-19 related deaths were reported. Total deaths are 929.
