From November 4, 2021, non-urgent admissions and elective surgical operations will be temporarily suspended in all hospitals on the territory of Bulgaria, under an Order issued by the caretaker Minister of Health on November 3.
Exception is given to activities related to transplantation of organs, tissues and cells, diagnostics and treatment of patients with oncological and oncohematological diseases, assisted reproduction and births, regardless of the method of delivery, rehabilitation activities, long-term treatment and psychiatric care.
In this way, on the one hand, the pressure on hospitals will be alleviated, and on the other hand, it will be possible for wards to be converted into COVID units and medical teams to be reassigned to treat patients with COVID-19.
The same order comprehensively lists all documents for vaccination, disease and testing for COVID-19, which in Bulgaria are recognized as a "green certificate". A validity period is indicated for each of the documents.
