A draft law proposed by the Ministry of Finance provides for higher charges to be paid for older cars, calculated according to their Euro category.
Currently, the formula includes the power and age of the cars and the charges for older cars are lower than for new ones. The proposal is to raise the charges for old cars and reduce the charges for new ones.
New higher charges are introduced for "horsepower". How much the car pollutes the environment and what is its ecological standard will also be taken into account. So far, there were discounts for the cars that had catalytic converters, but such discounts are expected to be dropped.
