The leaders of the three main political groups in the Bulgarian Parliament: the center right GERB, the centre left ‘Bulgarian Socialist Party’ and the centre ‘Movement for Rights and Freedoms’ agreed the early parliamentary elections in Bulgaria to be held on 5 October this year.
The specific date for the elections was agreed following the proposal of the Consultative Council for National Security (CCNS) that the early parliamentary elections be held between 28 September and 12 October. The meeting of CCNS was convened by President Rosen Plevneliev and took place on 17 June in relation to the political situation in the country.
