After only one year in office, the Bulgarian government led by the socialist backed Prime Minister Oresharski resigned on 23rd of July and Parliament voted to accept the resignation on 24th of July.
Bulgaria’s President convened consultations with the Parliamentary groups to offer mandate for formation of government. As no agreement was reached, President Plevneliev issued a Decree to dissolve the Parliamenton on 6th of August, scheduled the early parliamentary elections for 5th of October and appointed a caretaker government.
