The National Gallery prepares an unusual exhibition - 91 picturesque canvases of old masters, a representative part of the collection of Boyan Radev. He decided to dedicate this exhibition to the 50th anniversary of his second gold medal in wrestling at the Olympic Games in Mexico in 1968. The official opening is on 2nd of August, but the great champion and collector agreed to tell in advance the history of his precious paintings to BNT.
Boyan Radev’s collection is a real treasure. It’s no coincidence that they say about him, that with all of his paintings he can create one more national gallery.
The collection includes astounding masteroieces by the great Bulgarina artists - his favourite Zlatyu Boyadzhiev, David Perez, Vasil Barakov, Bencho Obreshkov. The paintings also have special dedications. To Boyan Radev, because of his love for art, wrote once Ivan Nenov. Some canvases here are real discoveries.
The exhibition will remain open for three months.
