Final investment decision for the construction of the gas interconnector pipeline between Bulgaria and Greece was signed on 10th of December in Sofia in the presence of Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and the energy ministers of two counties.
The gas hub would be named “Balkan”.
Bulgaria has already committed to issuing guarantees worth 215 million BGN for the 181 km on the Bulgarian section of the pipeline. The construction is due to begin in October 2016. The gas hub is planned to become operational in mid-2018.
