Six villages in the area of Bansko ski resort have been without power supply for 5 days as the heavy snowfall in the area had brought down powerlines. Teams of the power distribution company are working to make repairs.
It is not yet clear when the power supply will be restored. About 40 teams of the power distribution company are working to fix the problems. The heavy snowfall knocked down 25 powerlines and 10 were completely damaged. People worry and say they have to buy gas heaters.
In order to avoid such severe power outages in the future, the mayor of Razlog offers that an alternative electricity grid be built.
According to local people and according to the mayor of Bansko, preventative care should be taken during the summer months to help reduce blackouts and damages to the electric system.
