Government sets up new body with responsibility for road safety

The government will create a new state body to control all other road safety services, the Deputy Prime Minister, Tomislav Donchev, said after the regular weekly meeting of the government on 29^th of August. The idea of the new structure comes after a meeting with the Prime Minister.

All relevant departments and functions from the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Transport, Regional Development, Road Infrastructure Agency, other departments, including the Ministry of Education, will consolidate into one structure with direct responsibilities related to road safety. This way there will not be division of responsibilities, especially in critical situations, Donchev said.
