Municipal councilors on 26th of voted to extend the Green Parking Zone in Sofia as of 1st of November. The plan is to have additional 5,500 spaces. Thus the total green parking places in the capital will be 27,000, the largest number being in Lozenets district, followed by Oborishte, Vazrazhdane and Krasno Selo.
The Centre for Urban Mobility said that the information about the new parking spaces in the green zone will be provided to the regional mayors and they will inform the residents about it. So the residetns of the capital city will be able to see how their street will look after the introduction of the green zone, where parking will be prohibited and where there will be parking places for disabled people.
Residents of the streets with parking changes will have one month to make objections.
