11 of totally 250 milk processing enterprises registered in Bulgaria in fact do not process milk, but produce imitations of dairy products. An increasing number of traders fail to show fats of plant origin in the products, the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency (BFSA) said on 21st of June.
The largest number of violations were identified in bulk cheeses.
561 samples have been taken from various shops. 17 samples showed the presence of palm fats in the cheeses. Half of them were made by one and the same producer and its production was closed a week ago.
Only 2 counterfeit dairy products were found in the past 2 months, BFSA said.
