At its first formal sitting on 6th of August, the caretaker government officially nominated Kristalina Georgieva for Bulgaria’s representative in the European Commission.
The caretaker Prime Minister, Georgi Bliznashki, stated that the government nominated Kristalina Georgieva for Bulgaria’s EU Commissioner as well as for the position of Vice President of the Commission and for High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
"It is an honour and responsibility to be Bulgaria's nomination for second term at the European Commission. I thank all who support me", Kristalina Georgieva commented on Facebook.
