Georgi Georgiev, Minister of Justice:
“I am pleased that, after making a commitment in the spring, the government has fulfilled its pledge to Ms Kövesi and to the European Public Prosecutor’s Office, as well as to the Supreme Judicial Council, which manages the building. The finishing works were carried out by the Prosecutor General’s Office, so I am glad that, four and a half years after the initial requests, we are finally able to open the office today. The efforts of the Bulgarian state are being recognised by our European partners. This is also a very clear signal to Bulgaria’s European prosecutors regarding their work in combating corruption.”
