Drivers of heavy duty lorries staged a protest on April 7.
The reason for their dissatisfaction is that since last year they have been diverted to use a bypass route instead of “Hemus” motorway.
The drivers are unhappy with the poor condition of the road. Regional Development Minister Grozdan Karadzhov arrived on site. He even got to ride in one of the lorries to see for himself the poor state of the road and the dangerous passage for the drivers.
Protesters complained about frequent and expensive repairs to the lorries after they pass through the stretch in question.
