Cargo lorries will pay tolls for passage across Danude Bridge and vignette fees with cards only.
The measure was introduced on 1st of December.
Average about 800 lorries per day cross the bridge from Bulgaria to Romania. Lorry drivers pay 37 euros for passage across the Danube bridge. They also have to pay for a vignette if they had not paid earlier while travelling through the country.
Payment with cards aims to speed up the processing of the lorries as border officials will not have to operate with cash. So far, it took about 3-4 minutes for processing of a lorry.
Drivers of cars will have the option to choose between payment with card or in cash.
