There are real conditions that can contribute to the rise of bread price, Bulgaria’s Minister of Agriculture, Rumen Porozhanov, said on 13th of September.
He commented that a series of meetings with large retail chains began in relation to the possible bread prices increase, discussing the mark-ups they put on bread price. Rumen Porozhanov will also meet with Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov to discuss VAT on bread.
He explained that the price of bread is set to rise because the cost of wheat increased by 20%.
