Bulgaria expects more than 5% growth of tourists compared to 2019, said the caretaker Minister of Tourism, Ilin Dimitrov on May 18.
"In numerical terms, this is about 4.9 million tourist registrations, this is what we expect in the summer,” he added.
He cited data from the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), according to which Bulgaria is the sixth "best" performing country in the world for the first quarter of 2023 compared to 2019.
This is due to many factors, one of which is good advertising and active business. Business has started to be active and the results are visible. We expect a very good summer tourist season, Dimitrov said.
