Specialised police operation begins on the territory of the whole country, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) announced on November 3. The operation is ordered by Chief Commissioner Petar Todorov, Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Interior.
Maximum number of police will be engaged in the operation.
In adition to employees from Sofia Directorate of MoI and Regional Directorates of MoI, it will also include teams from the General Directorates "National Police" and "Gendarmerie", Special Operations and Counter-Terrorism.
The main task is prevention and combat of crimes against the political rights of the citizens and violations of the electoral legislation, counteraction to conventional crimes, and identification of persons circulated as wanted.
Checks for civil registration will also take place.
The operation will continue until the elections, scheduled for November 14.
