More than 5 million BGN was stolen during the robbery of an armoured van yesterday, BNT learned from sources.
The two vehicles used in the armed robbery had registration plates with Ukrainian numbers, which are known to have been wanted abroad.
"At the moment we believe that 4 persons were the perpetrators of the robbery. A serious amount of money was stolen - we are talking about a 7-digit sum, the exact amount is yet to be determined. It was in the form of banknotes of different denominations, which were in crates intended for refilling ATMs in several banks," said Sofia City Prosecutor's Office spokeswoman Desislava Petrova on November 16.
