‘If the mandate-holder has made its final decision at the BSP plenum, it is time for responsible consultations with the Head of State”, said Lyutvi Mestan, the leader of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) as a response to Sergei Stanishev’s proposal for resignation of the government and early elections. Mestan said that his statement from last week was not a 'sentence' against the government, but speeded up the process of making the right decision – early elections.
Mestan added that MRF expressed the most-correct position regarding the ‘South Stream’ gas pipe line project, saying that it should not be implemented despite Brussels, but only in dialogue with Brussels.
