"Requiem" by Mozart - the last work of the composer, the stirring unfinished “swan song” by the composer of “Requiem” will be performed this year the stage of the Antique Forum “Augusta Trayana” in Stara Zagora on 20 and 31 July.
In the scenic version of Mozart’s “Requiem” the basic focus is on the choreography and the director’s interpretation of the well-known genius work.
The director Ognyan Draganov adds oral texts from Dante's "Inferno" and develops the idea of the eternal fight between Good and Evil, the ordering in time of the contrasts in our lives, of the “power” of the worldly vanity.
"Our intention is to reflect on exactly this: this swan song, this requiem, this funeral mass, actually gives each one of us an opportunity to think about what the world looked like before us and what the world would look like after us. Good and evil, what are the dimensions of one’s life. Are we inclined to be humble before the altar or before the scream of all those life gains that each one of us strives for", said Ognyan Draganov - director.
"It's a very syncretic, very philosophical, very inspiring and very spiritual performance," said Sylvia Tomova - director of the ballet.
