New anti-hail rocket launching grounds start operating in Tuzha

A new command station with 22 anti-hail rocket launching grounds will start operating as of May 28 to ensure protection of nearly 2 million decares of land in the regions of Stara Zagora and Plovdiv, Bulgaria’s Ministry of Agriculture said.

The new facility is located in the village of Tuzha, the municipality of Pavel Banya, Stara Zagora region.

It will protect 1 million decares of arable land in the municipalities of Pavel Banya, Karlovo, Kazanlak and Maglizh.

So far, the Hail Suppression Agency covered nearly 4 million decares of land in Plovdiv and Stara Zagora.

After the opening of the command stations in Haskovo last week and in Tuzha, the anti-hail rocket launching grounds became 256 and the command centers - 57. New anti-hail rocket launching grounds are due to be launched in Pleven and Plovdiv.
