The Bulgarian Government adopted on 28th of November a new Ordinance on the management of construction waste and on the use of recycled building materials. The aim is to restrict the illegal dumping of construction waste.
The provisions provide for the cases where a Waste Management Plan is not required. These include smaller sites and constructions, as well as the construction and assembly works of linear objects of the technical infrastructure.
Disposal, collection, transportation, diversion, re-use of construction waste from all these sites will be determined by municipal regulations.
This will ensure traceability of the generated amount of construction waste on the territory of the respective municipality, avoid dumping them in unregulated places and thus reduce the municipalities' expenses for their cleaning.
With the adoption of the new normative document, the existing Ordinance on the management of construction waste and on the use of recycled building materials is repealed.
