Bulgaria’s Energy and Water Regulatory Commission is expected by the end of the day to come up with a final decision on the prices of heating.
The price of natural gas has risen by nearly 14%. According to the regulator's calculations, the prices of heating will rise by between 4% and 9% for different cities. The increase in Sofia will be by 8%.
Taking into account the price rise in April this year, the overall increase will be up to 23% on average for the country, and for Sofia by 16%.
No increase is expected for Rousse, Pernik, Sliven and Gabrovo, because the district heating plants are coal-fired and do not use gas. The price of electricity will also not change.
