A section of 33 km from the barbed wire fence at Bulgaria’s border with Turkey has been completed. The facility is located on the territory of the Southern Bulgarian city if Haskovo.
Further 12 km remain for construction. 72,000 BGN have been provided for the completion of the section, the district administration in Haskovo said on 7th of July.
The project for the construction of the barbed wire fence preventing illegal migrants from crossing into Bulgaria from Turkey was launched a year ago.
The cost of the completed facility and the road along it is 26 million BGN, the state administration said.
The final section from the border facility which is on the territory of Haskovo district will reach Yambol district in the hilly area along the Tundzha river.
