NEW SOFTWARE ENABLES NRA TO ACCELERATE COLLECTION OF ARREARS

A new information system will help Bulgaria’s National Revenue Agency (NRA) to more effectively collect outstanding liabilities to the budget, the NRA announced on 12th of February.

The new software was introduced on 1st of February and was built as a web-based application with centralized database.

The system consolidates information about all public liabilities of the NRA’s clients, including information about unpaid taxes, social and health insurance contributions, and liabilities given from other bodies of the executive and judicial power to NRA for collection, including municipal receivables.

The new system will contain information about the exact size of the arrears and will administer all actions undertaken by the NRA officials for their collection.

The introduction of the specialized software accelerates the issuing of documents. At the same time, it has various automated functionalities and controls, including monitoring of deadlines, consistency in carrying out certain actions and others.

The new software fully communicates with the other systems in the NRA - the system for revenue management and "Control" and "Fiscal control” information systems.

The full automation of the process of collecting public debts of citizens and organizations will lead to greater transparency and enhanced accountability and will increase the collection rate of outstanding receivables, NRA officials said.
