Norway’s Foreign Minister is on a visit to Bulgaria

Norway’s Foreign Minister is on a visit to Bulgaria for the first time in 15 years.

Bulgaria and Norway need to step up the trade rlations and develop more joint projects. These were the conclusions of Bulgaria’s Deputy Prime Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva and Norwegian Foreign Minister Ine Eriksen Søreide after the meeting on September 16.

This is the first visit of a Norwegian foreign minister to Bulgaria in 15 years. During the meeting, Zaharieva highlighted Oslo's exceptional contribution to various areas funded under the Norwegian programme. One of the successful projects is the Crisis Centre of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The trade turnover between the two countries is increasing every year, but it is far from the possibilities of the two countries countries, said Zaharieva.

In turn, Ine Søreide also said that there is room for development in trade and high technology.
