Owners of old cars will pay higher tax rate from next year. This was decided by the MPs with the approval of the amendments to the Corporate Income Tax Act on 7th of November.
The new calculation formula will take into account not only the power of the vehicle and the year of production but also the environmental category and the pollution it causes.
This will lead to a 30% increase in the tax on old cars produced before 2005, with a category up to Euro3. Those with higher eco-certification will receive discounts. The tax rates will be determined by the municipal councils.
