More than 20,000 viewers are expected to attend this year’s edition of the festival Opera Open in the South Bulgarian city of Plovdiv. The event is a successor of the renowned Verdi Nights festival which has taken place for more than 30 years at the Roman theatre in the city of Plovdiv.
World famous opera singers from Arena di Verona, La Scala, Metropolitan and Vienna State Opera will perform operas by Verdi, Wagner, Puccini and Bizet.
The programme of the festival will include productions of The Flying Dutchman, Turandot and Aida.
Opera Open started on 18th of June and will run until 29th of July.
